Segment #2
Commitment and Goal Setting
Let's get it started!!
The other day, I suggested that you take a time out...... make sure that you are ready to make the commitment to changing your life for the better. Keep in mind that it might not be easy. But then, like Coach Woody Hayes used to say, "Nothing in life that comes easy is worth a dime". Sure, we've all received a few handouts now and then. Yeah, it's not too bad. However, it's never quite the same feeling as when you had to go out and earn it on your own. You just feel really good about yourself when you've accomplished the goal. The hard work involved in your exercise program.... no matter what level, is going to enhance your self esteem. You're going to feel better about yourself. It's that simple. Try it. And by the way, there aren't any handouts in fitness and health. YOU have got to earn it. (continued)

Many of us are ready to make positive changes in our lives. Actually, we just need someone or something to push us, or to motivate us in order to get the ball rolling. The first thing I need to emphasize is the GOAL. Psychologists suggest that we write down our goals. I couldn't agree more. As a coach, I can relate first hand on this issue. Over the past twenty-five years, I had the opportunity to work with hundreds of athletes. Some of them have been extremely gifted. But no matter how gifted or talented those athletes are, one thing that stands out in my memory is the fact that the overwhelming majority of them were very goal oriented. And coaches are notorious for writing goals down. It adds focus to the mission.

Contemplate your mission. Where do you want to go? What's your MISSION? It's not impossible!
