Healthy Alternative Snack Foods
Making The Next Level commitment may mean that you should make some changes in your diet. My first suggestion is to eliminate the daily consumption of pop and sodas. These drinks are loaded with sugars and artificial sweeteners. Over consumption of these types of beverages can only lead to problems. Keep in mind that an occassional Coke is not going to affect you. Today's other suggestion is to decrease the amount of "junk" foods. Cut down on chips, overbuttered and high fat popcorn, ice cream, and cookies. Notice that I suggest cutting back. Many of those types of foods contain high calories but of little nutritional value.
Large amouts of junk food can only lead to health problems down the road. Instead, take a look at the items listed below. These are some foods to snack on that will provide many wholesome nutrients! Give them a try and get to The Next Level.
Nuts: peanuts, almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts, pistachios
Dried fruit: raisins,apple rings, apricots, dates
Sandwiches on whole grain breads with cheese, chicken, ham, tuna, peanut butter, or banana
Yogurt and Cottage Cheese
Milk and Milkshakes
Breakfast Cereal or Oatmeal with milk and dried fruit
Cheese....slices or cubes
Pancakes
English Muffins, Rolls and Bagels
Cereal Bars, Breakfast Bars and Energy Bars (make sure they don't contain hydrogenated fats)
Whole Grain Bread or Toast with Jelly or Honey
